Woods will keep “trying” to make Masters comeback

Tiger Woods remains committed to making a competitive return at the Masters, stating he is "trying" to be ready for the tournament in three weeks, despite not yet making a final decision. The 15-time major champion acknowledged the challenges of his aging body, noting, "this body is -- it doesn't recover like it did when it was 24, 25." He highlighted enduring several significant injuries in recent years, which have prolonged his recovery efforts.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his participation, Woods expressed his deep affection for the Masters, a tournament he has cherished since he was 19. He confirmed he would be present at Augusta National regardless, fulfilling commitments related to The Loop, a new 9-hole course he co-designed, and attending the annual Champions Dinner. When asked about his decision timeline, Woods simply stated he would be "practising, playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress."
Woods recently participated in a TGL indoor simulator league match for Jupiter Links, his first competitive play since rupturing his Achilles tendon in March 2025 and undergoing a seventh back surgery in October. His last PGA Tour appearance was at the 2024 Open Championship, where he missed the cut. Following the TGL match, Woods reported feeling "fine physically." He described the simulator league's rhythm as unique, comparing it to foursomes in Ryder or Presidents Cups where there can be long periods between shots. Despite the different format, Woods found the experience enjoyable.
