Trevose: An extraordinary championship links on the Atlantic coast

July 11, 2026Diego Herrera2 мин

Having recently marked its centennial, the Trevose Golf & Country Club consistently delivers a premier links golf experience complemented by breathtaking ocean vistas.

Situated along the dramatic Cornish coastline, the Championship Course often integrates the Celtic Sea into play, particularly across its front nine. Spanning over 7,000 yards from the championship tees, it embodies the true character of a classic links layout.

With its prime location on the Atlantic Ocean coastline, accompanying resort facilities, and rich heritage, Trevose's Championship Course is widely regarded as a golfer's ultimate destination.

History

The historical narrative of the land occupied by Trevose Golf Club predates the course itself, originating with Dr. Penrose Williams' keen interest in a local Holy Well.

In the 1920s, renowned golf course architect Harry Colt, acclaimed for his work on courses such as Royal Liverpool, Swinley Forest, and Royal Portrush’s Dunluce Course, designed and laid out Trevose's Championship Course.

Having celebrated its centenary in 2025, the Championship Course has recently hosted prestigious events, including the Brabazon Trophy and the 2021 European Legends Links Championship, part of the European Legends Tour.

What makes the Trevose Golf & Country Club special?

Similar to many golf courses across Cornwall, a round at Trevose Golf & Country Club is distinguished by its captivating and magnificent views.

Positioned adjacent to Trevose Head, which extends dramatically into the Atlantic Ocean, the club provides a championship-standard links course along the Cornish coast, designed to challenge every aspect of a golfer's skill.

Beyond its golfing facilities, Trevose operates as an exceptional resort. The Trevose Resort provides exquisite accommodation, including apartments and cottages, each offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The venue further enhances its golfing appeal with two additional 9-hole courses: the Headland Course and the Short Course.
