Rory McIlroy's 2026 Golf Bag: Updated Driver and Iron Choices
As the year concludes, the golf world buzzes with anticipation for new driver releases, and the 2026 season is no exception. Major brands are unveiling their latest technologies, with the TaylorMade Qi4D driver already in the hands of tour professionals. Rory McIlroy notably used this driver, alongside the Qi4D fairway woods, when he secured his fourth consecutive and seventh overall Race to Dubai Rankings victory.
A more surprising shift was his early 2026 decision to switch irons from the Rors Proto to the P7CB. However, by the time of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Rors Proto irons had made a return to his bag.
For his golf ball, McIlroy remains consistent with the TaylorMade TP5, having previously used the TP5x.
A Look Inside Rory McIlroy’s Bag
Currently, his bag features the new Qi4D driver and fairway woods, a range that has garnered excellent reviews and a warm reception from tour players.
Earlier in 2025, he opted for the Qi10 5-wood for the US Open at Oakmont but replaced it with P760 long irons for The Open. He then transitioned to a TaylorMade P760 4-iron and TaylorMade Rors Proto 5-9 irons. Early in 2026, he experimented with P7CB irons before reverting back to the Rors Proto models.
McIlroy has also adjusted his wedge setup and is presently using four TaylorMade MG5 wedges.
For putting, he continues to use the TaylorMade Spider Tour X putter, a model he also recommended to Scottie Scheffler.
Rounding out his equipment is the TaylorMade TP5 golf ball, a significant change from 2025 when he played the TP5x.
