Middle East Conflict Affects HotelPlanner Tour

July 11, 2026Pablo Navarro1 мин

The HotelPlanner Tour has announced its withdrawal from sanctioning the upcoming Indorama Ventures Open Golf Championship in India. This decision was made in response to significant travel complications encountered by its staff and participating players, stemming from the ongoing military actions in the Middle East.

Several golfers, including Conor Purcell, Gary Hurley, Liam Nolan, and Max Kennedy, were slated to compete in the Ahmedabad-based tournament. However, as numerous players and officials were scheduled to transit through the impacted Middle East region, the HotelPlanner Tour, in collaboration with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), opted to remove its endorsement for the event.

Despite this withdrawal, the Indorama Ventures Open Golf Championship is still scheduled to proceed as planned. It will now be sanctioned exclusively by the Professional Golf Tour of India.

In an official statement, the HotelPlanner Tour conveyed, "This is an evolving situation that we will continue to monitor very closely, with assessments made on a tournament-by-tournament basis."

The full extent of the conflict's impact on future golf events remains uncertain. This includes potential effects on the DP World PGTI Open, scheduled for March 19-22 at the Classic Golf & Country Club in Gurugram, Haryana, India, as well as two tournaments slated for the UAE in April.
