This week, the PGA Tour arrives at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, for the highly anticipated Genesis Scottish Open. Defending champion Robert MacIntyre, a native of Oban, Scotland, is set to compete on home soil against a star-studded lineup featuring the top five players in the world rankings.
In a thrilling finish last year, MacIntyre secured his 2024 victory by sinking a 22-foot birdie putt on the final hole, narrowly defeating Adam Scott. His win marked a significant moment, as he became the first Scottish golfer to claim the tournament title in 25 years.
Competitors will be vying for a substantial total purse of $9 million. The winner will receive $1.5 million and 500 valuable FedEx Cup points.
