Review Summary

Adidas has made a strong comeback with the Adizero ZG golf shoes after a ten-year wait, and they certainly live up to expectations. While initially feeling a bit snug out of the box, the foam cushioning adapted beautifully to my feet after an 18-hole round. I did find it necessary to go up half a size from my usual fitting. Overall, the comfort was outstanding, and these shoes will definitely be a staple in my golf wardrobe.

Even through multiple rain showers during my round, the Adizero ZGs kept my feet completely dry. These shoes are remarkably lightweight, and despite featuring a spikeless sole, they offered impressive grip.

PROS

First Impressions: Adidas Adizero ZG Women’s Golf Shoes

As a long-time fan of Adizero golf shoes from my younger days, I was eager to try the latest model. Upon unboxing, the shoes displayed the classic Adidas silhouette and excellent styling. I appreciated the clean white base accented by a subtle pink/red gradient at the heel, adding a touch of color. They also felt incredibly lightweight in hand.

The spikeless sole, with its tooth-like nubs, promised solid traction during swings – a feature I was keen to test on the course.

On-Course Performance and Comfort

My initial thought when trying on the shoes was that they might be too small. However, after walking around for a few minutes, I realized they fit well. For context, I typically wear a UK 7.5, but knowing Adidas sometimes runs half a size smaller, I opted for a UK 8 for this review.

From the moment I put them on, I could feel the ample Lightstrike foam cushioning, strategically shaped to cradle the foot comfortably and enhance stability. After completing 18 holes, I can confidently say these shoes were the perfect size and exceptionally comfortable. I experienced no discomfort whatsoever and didn’t feel any urge to take them off at the end of the round; I genuinely enjoyed wearing them.

Weather Resistance and Traction

During my round, I encountered several rain showers, some quite heavy. Despite this, the Adizero ZGs kept my feet perfectly dry, thanks to Adidas’s Waterproof Sprintskin synthetic upper, designed for all-weather play. Testing them on a muddy UK course, I was highly impressed by the stability and traction provided by the rubber nubs on the spikeless sole. Whether walking the course or executing swings, I never once slipped or felt unstable. Adidas has also incorporated their SPIKEMORE outsole, engineered to be lighter than previous models.

Ease of Cleaning and Sustainability

After navigating muddy conditions, cleaning the shoes was straightforward. The synthetic leather upper wiped clean effortlessly, restoring their fresh, new appearance. It’s also worth noting Adidas’s commitment to ethical production, with these shoes crafted from a blend of recycled and renewable materials, comprising at least 20% of the total composition.

Final Verdict

Overall, my experience with the new Adizero ZG golf shoes was extremely positive. My initial sizing concerns quickly dissipated as the shoes molded comfortably to my feet. They offered remarkable comfort over 18 holes, and I eagerly anticipate wearing them throughout the upcoming season.
